Here are some resources and FAQs relating to Spurgeon Publications. There are further links at the bottom of the page in the "About C H Spurgeon" section also which you may find useful. Of course if you are looking for references or have other queries please refer to our Contact page. Thank you.
Spurgeon Publications has always depended on donations from supporting friends in order to continue its work. This enables the sermons to be "free at the point of need" i.e. at no direct charge to the recipients. In recent years though the size of the mailing list has increased exponentially and with it, the printing and postage costs incurred.
At the same time the proportion of recipients who are in the developing world has increased greatly. As it tends to be the UK readers who financially support the sermons, this means we now have to wait for a certain threshold of funds to be reached before we can organize a new sermon. In the early days it was more like several times a year.
In re-developing our web site, we came across the following from the man himself:
BUTTERFLY CHRISTIANITY?
-Spurgeon, "Sown Among Thorns"
Some Christians nowadays have a butterfly Christianity.
When time, and strength, and thought,
and talent are all spent upon mere amusement,
what else are men and women but mere butterflies?
It is our prayer that through these sermons and this ministry that our readers might be enabled to grow beyond that butterfly Christianity into fullness of grace.
